Tanzanite is a substitute of Blue Sapphire, and can also be worn in place of Blue Topaz, Iolite and Amethyst.
There is only one place on earth where natural tanzanite is found. This makes it very rare and one of its kind.
Tanzanite has an unusual trichroic feature. Which makes it different from all the other gemstones. Due to this it looks different when kept under different lights.
The biggest pieces were mined in 2020, weighing 9.2kgs and 5.8kgs. These are now kept in the local museum by the Tanzanian government to honor Tanzania’s wealth.
